Reincarnation is the belief that when a person dies, their soul transcends the physical death and is ‘assigned’ a new life, in a new body. Past life regression is a method by which a person can become familiar with a past life that they were previously unaware of. Past lives are believed to influence out current lives both physically and mentally and regression therapy is a method used to rid the mind of emotional debris left by memories in a past life. For instance, someone who starved to death in a past life may over-eat to compensate in this life. Through regression therapy they can come to terms with their unfortunate experience, change their outlook and stop the need to eat so often. A person is believed to experience a number of lives and in each one they learn new spiritual lessons. Once a person has made their full spiritual journey they are no longer reincarnated, but remain in the spiritual world as spirit guides to assist others in making their journey. Therefore, reliving the lessons we learn in our past lives through regression is likely to help us continue our journey in the life we live now as well as easing worries, fears and physical ailments. Past life regression is often done in a hypnotic or meditative state and a person must be regressed by someone else who asks a series of relevant questions such as “What year is it?” or “What are you wearing?” to gain information.
