Angels are divine, helpful entities who provide a channel from the physical world through to the spiritual. They are said to bring truths to people who cannot see them and help those in the physical world learn important spiritual lessons. In the Bible, the purpose of an Angel is to carry out God’s wishes, as they carry his Holiness and power.

The stereotypical view of an angel is a beautiful being dressed in white robes with wings and a halo. This image came about through scriptures, which document that although angels are supernatural entities, they can embody human form, but often their incredible beauty shines through and this is what reveals them as angels.

Angels appear frequently in the Christian faith as Holy beings and messengers from God. One of the most notable Christian angels is Gabriel who is said to have predicted the births of Jesus and John the Baptist. Muslim, Greek and Arab religions also have angels. Gabriel and Michael are noted ‘archangels’ in the Christian faith, which means that they are the highest and most holy of angels. Another well-known ‘Angel’ is Lucifer, who became a fallen angel, betrayed God and turned into Satan.

It also believed that each person has a guardian angel, which is always with him or her and is a spiritual guide. The personality of a person’s guardian angel will directly reflect their own, with shy and introverted people having strong, masculine angel figures. The aim of a guardian angel is to guard and help whomever it is protecting to grow spiritually.
